Why Steel? Steel is a better bang for the buck. You also get a stronger building along with greater flexibility and clearances in the interior.
Why not a Pole Barn? Itís not engineered for high winds, snow loads, live loads, dead loads, seismic, or deflections. Itís a quality issue.
Is steel more affordable than wood? Yes. Wood is very expensive, not as strong and requires many more hours for construction.
Can I put this building up myself? Yes. About 60% percent of customers put these buildings up. Everything bolts together and the building comes with easy to read stamped drawings and manuals. Our customer service department is also available for questions.
Do you provide help with permits? We provide the stamped prints, anchor bolt plans, concrete designs, calculations and other information to assist you in the permit process.
Will this type of construction work in my area? Most likely yes. It is important to visit with your local building department for further information.
What about concrete? It is the customerís choice on type of foundation they will use. The most common choices are slab, perimeter beam, or piers. All choices are best when placing the anchor bolts in the concrete before the pour. We provide the anchor bolt plan and an engineered concrete design if required.
What tools are required to construct a steel building? The erector will need some type of light weight lift (fork lift, front end loader, sky track) for off load the delivery truck and to help in the construction phase. Other tools are screw gun, tape measure, level, drill and bits, clamps, tin snips and other equipment you would find in a normal tool box.
Do I have to unload the delivery truck? Yes, or the company contracted to erect the building. The truck drivers are independent and do not have any experience for loading or unloading materials.
Do you do turn-key jobs? We are very good at designing and engineering steel buildings. We let the people that are knowledgeable about concrete, erection, plumbing, electrical etc. assist the customers.
Do you have erection crews? We have access to independent crews that will travel and install your steel building. They will contract with the customer or owner of the building.
What does clear span mean? The building is designed and engineered with no interior columns for support.
